Student Removals
End of term, moving into a shared house, or heading home for the summer. Boxes, a bike, a desk chair and the kettle, moved by a vetted crew, with storage over the holidays if you do not want to drag it all back. We look at what you have got and then quote it, so the price does not change on the day.

Tell us about your student move
Four short steps. Term dates, halls access and summer storage are all part of the form, so you are not sending three separate enquiries.
What does that actually look like?
A rough sense of how a load builds up, from one item to a whole house, so "a few items" is not a guessing game before you have even spoken to us.
Single item
One sofa, bed or appliance on its own
Studio or 1 bed
A full studio flat, packed and ready
2 bed and above
Sometimes more than one trip, which the survey settles
An illustration of load size, not a capacity promise. How many van loads your move actually needs comes out of the survey.
The one Tasqo service already covering the whole country
Waste, cleaning, handyman and storage need someone local. Removals just need a van and a crew, and those travel. Book a move from anywhere in the UK to anywhere else and we will quote it centrally.
Distance is part of the job, so it is part of the quote. You will not find a per-mile figure on this page, because a mileage rate on its own tells you nothing useful about what your move costs.
Long-distance moves
Longer routes change the plan rather than just the price: driver hours, whether the load goes in one trip, and occasionally an overnight stop.
We work that out at the survey and put one figure in your quote, with the assumptions written down, so nothing appears on your invoice that you did not already see.
How we quote a student move
Four stages, and we are clear at every point about what has and has not been agreed.
You tell us the move
Where from, where to, what size and roughly when. Two minutes.
You list what is moving
Search our item list or browse by room. Measurements and weights are optional, and we never guess one in.
We look at the job
A video walk-round or a visit, whichever you prefer. This is where access, stairs and parking get sorted out.
You get a firm quote
One price for your exact list, route, access and date. Nothing is charged until you accept it.
Built around how student moves actually go
Halls, and the porter
Halls have rules: a move-out deadline, a lift that needs booking, a loading bay you can use for twenty minutes, a porter who is only there until five. Tell us in the form and we plan around it rather than turning up and finding out.
Summer storage
Carting everything home in June and back in September is a waste of a car boot and a weekend. Choose storage as your destination and we collect it as part of this move, store it, and bring it back for the new term.
Because we are already collecting, there is no second collection charge. Storage and the September delivery are quoted separately, and if you do not know your return date yet, you are not paying for it now. More about storage.
Sharing the cost
Moving with housemates is cheaper, but only if it is set up properly. We need each person’s own list and each stop written down, so the van is loaded in the right order and the cost is split on something real rather than an argument in a group chat.
Add everyone’s items and say in the notes who owns what and where it is going.
Just a few boxes?
Then this is the wrong service and we will tell you so. A handful of boxes, a bike and a duvet is a Man & Van job with a call-out price, and it will be cheaper than a removal crew.
Moving out of a house that needs its deposit back? End of tenancy cleaning and clearing what you are not taking are separate services, priced on their own.
Why we look before we quote
A number typed into a website by someone who has not seen your staircase is a guess dressed up as a price. We would rather spend twenty minutes looking.
Video survey
A video call where you walk us round: the rooms, the stairs, the front door, the loft, the garage and the shed. Quick, no visit, and it works well for studios, one and two bedroom moves.
If the video leaves real questions open, we will say so and ask to come and look rather than quote around the gap.
On-site survey
We come and see it. For three bedrooms and up, or anything with a piano, a safe, an awkward lift or a parking restriction, this is what we suggest, because seeing the load and the access is what lets us stand behind the quote.
Both options are open to everyone, whatever we suggest. We do not hide one behind the other.
Surveys are arranged by agreement. The form above sends a survey request, not a confirmed appointment, and we will tell you before we attend if any fee applies to your job.
Common questions
Because we would be making it up. A removal price depends on what is actually in the house, how it comes out of the door, where the van can park and how far it is going. A number on screen before any of that is known is either too high, so you go elsewhere, or too low, so it changes later and you are annoyed with us. We take your details, look at the job, and then give you one firm price for your exact move. Nothing is charged until you accept it.
We come back to you to arrange the survey, usually quickly, and the firm quote follows the survey. If you are working to a tight deadline say so in the form or call us on 07455 952229 and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
Yes. Choose the items and how many of each in step three. It is priced per item by type and complexity, with taking apart and putting back together counted separately, and it appears as its own line in your quote rather than disappearing into a total. Fitted furniture, anything needing electrical work and specialist assemblies get assessed rather than quoted blind.
Probably not, and we will say so. For a handful of boxes, a single sofa or one room's worth, our Man & Van service has a call-out price and will almost certainly be cheaper than a removal crew. The form above spots a small load and points you there. If you would still rather we quoted it as a removal, carry on, that is fine too.
We will tell you after the survey, and then it is in writing. Van loads come from weight and space together, whichever runs out first, plus whether each item physically fits through the doors. Crew is worked out from the actual job: stairs, weights, parking distance and how much furniture work there is. We are not going to put a van count or a crew number on your screen before we have checked, and we are not going to say six people and send four.
Yes, or bring your own and we will just do the lifting and driving. Tick the packing box in step three and say what you would like covered. Materials are itemised by what is actually used, with the quantities and prices shown in your quote before you accept it.
Yes. Choose storage as your destination in step one and the form asks what goes in, when it starts and roughly how long. Collection is part of this move, so it is not charged twice. Storage and the later delivery are separate lines, and if you do not know when you want it back yet, that stays unconfirmed future work rather than something you pay for now. Availability and unit size are confirmed with you before anything is booked.
Your quote covers a defined list, route, access, services and date. If any of those change, more items, a different address, a date move, we work out the difference and agree it with you before any extra is charged. No surprises on the day and nothing added to an invoice you have not seen.
